Tallyfall is a roguelike deckbuilder about hitting a limit. Four lanes each get their own limit every round. Land exactly on it for an Exact Tally, or Lock In while you are still under it. Jokers change how scoring works, and bosses rewrite the rules for a round.
Each round, every lane is dealt a limit between 16 and 24. You draw cards into the lanes and decide when to stop. Exactly on the limit scores an Exact Tally. Two cards that hit the limit make a Swift Tally. Five cards that land within four of the limit make a Chain. Go over and the lane overflows.
Lock In banks a lane while it is still under its limit, and pays more the closer you stop to the limit. Heat and Combo multiply your points across the run. The next card stays hidden until a Joker such as Lookout or Far Sight reveals it, so part of every decision is a guess.
Between rounds you pick one Joker from a set of four. Bosses, such as The Tinker and The Furnace, change the rules for a round, and each has a counterplay you can read before the round starts. Five starters, from Balanced to Redline, shape how a run opens.
